Elsevier and the Journal of Biomaterials are pleased to announce the 2016 Biomaterials Outstanding Paper Award. The Biomaterials Outstanding Paper Award aims to recognise outstanding research in Biomaterials which brings new perspectives on the field or provides innovative answers to challenging biomedical science and engineering questions.

The award consists of a USD 1,000 cash prize which will be awarded to the first author of the winning manuscript and will be announced at the upcoming European Society of Biomaterials 2017 meeting in Athens, Greece.

Nominations from leaders in the field as well as self-nominations are welcome. The article should have a publication date of 2016 with Biomaterials.  The nominator or corresponding author is asked to describe the significance of the article including its novelty and impact on the field (max. 100 words).
