| A high-resolution transmission electron microscopy image of regularly arranged mesopores with Im3m symmetry (yellow) inside a SiO2 thin coating (red). The green and black areas result from the superposition of the colored first- and second-order fast Fourier transform (FFT)-filtered images and represent the Fresnel fringes at the pore borders. Inset: FFT diffraction pattern. Average pore radius = 5.1 ± 0.3 nm; film thickness = ~750 nm; sample calcined at 350°C. The coating, obtained via self-assembly from a sol-gel solution containing Pluronic F127 surfactant, was deposited inside a microcellular ceramic foam to produce a ceramic body with hierarchical (micro-, meso- and macro-) porosity for catalysis applications. | ||
