Extreme Mechanics Letters Young Investigator Award 2016

The second Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML) Young Investigator Award is provided by Elsevier to honor the best paper by a young scientist which has been published in volumes 5-8 EML from 2015 to 2016.

Extreme Mechanics Letters publishes rapid communication of research that highlight the role of mechanics in multi-disciplinary areas across materials science, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine and engineering; with an emphasis on the impact, depth and originality of new concepts, methods and observations at the forefront of applied sciences.

The award is made annually to the corresponding authors of the paper who received his/her Ph.D. no more than 10 years prior to the year of award. Corresponding authors who have yet to receive a Ph.D. will also be considered.

The first EML Young Investigator Award was presented to Professor Xuehe Zhao from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Professor Michael McAlpine from University of Minnesota at the EML Reception on December 2nd 2015 at the MRS Fall meeting in Boston.

The deadline for nominations for the second EML Young Investigator Award is Sept. 10, 2016.
