Scientist analytical development
Closing date: 01 March 2012
Department
The Analytical Development department is part of the Pharmaceutical and Analytical Development group. The main responsibility of the AD group is development, qualification and validation of analytical methods, required for analysis of classical vaccines as well as for vaccines based on adenovirus platform. Product analysis includes not only testing for quantity, potency, purity and identity, but also detailed structural and morphological characterization. The Analytical Development department is playing a key role in the product development trajectory, by developing methods to assess product quality, but also by supporting both process development as well as formulation development departments throughout the different phases, from early to late stage development.
Job description
The Analytical Development Department is looking for a motivated scientist, who loves challenges, to develop new analytical methods for the structural and morphological characterization of classical vaccines as well as for vaccines based on adenovirus platform. The role requires knowledge of content analyses, aggregation assessment and virosomal protein characterization. As scientist, you will be responsible for the development of assays as well as of assay qualification & validation and transfer, when necessary. Troubleshooting and planning, performing & reporting analyses will be also part of your responsibilities. You will work in close collaboration with the other scientists within AD as well as with scientist belonging to process development and formulation development. Moreover, you will manage and mentor technician(s) to ensure high quality results.
Good skill in communication, documentation, evaluating and reporting results are required, as well high team playing attitude.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in a relevant discipline such as biochemistry, life sciences, or related fields. Relevant experience with structural and morphological characterization techniques for biomolecules, such as: AUC, MALS, DLS, CE, HPLC-based analytical methods and UV measurement is required. Experience with additional analytical techniques and familiarity with quality systems such as GMP are strong advantages.
Competences
You will actively contribute to the development of Crucell vaccines, therefore we are looking for a flexible, motivated team-player, who can think “out of the box”, with problem solving capabilities.
