Additive Industries has appointed Dave Emmett as its new Director of sales and business development for North America.

This move is reportedly part of the company’s bid to take a more prominent p[position in the metal additive manufacturing (AM) industry.

Emmett previously held the role of technical sales leader at GE Additive and has spent the last 25 years in various management roles in companies such as BAE Systems and Renishaw.

His responsibilities at Additive Industries will include driving strategic customer relationships, building the North American sales team, and developing new business initiatives that focus on growth in aviation, space & defense, high tech, energy, and industrial, the company said.

‘In this immature industry, process variability is one of our challenges,’ said Emmett. ‘The automated processes that Additive Industries has placed in the hands of the operators reduces that variability and offers pre and post build validation tools which are critical to quality.’
