The 14th IIB2013 integrates fundamental and applied research thereby merging cutting edge research with up to date and evolving applications. It strongly promotes an interdisciplinary approach on various issues related to the interfacial phenomena in materials. The conference especially focuses on the atomic-scale characterization and properties of interfaces, including multiscale modeling, microscopy, spectroscopy, thermodynamics, mechanical, physical and electronic properties. Emphasis is also given in emerging nanostructured materials engineering for tailoring desired materials properties. iib2013 is devoted to address the recent advancements and outline the future directions in the field.
