A regular feature of the European Powder Metallurgy Association’s annual conference is the wideranging open meeting of EHMG, the EPMA Hardmetals Group, key to both commercial activity and cutting-edge cooperative research. This is, however, by no means the only session devoted to hardmetals, and in this feature we look at some of the presentations I attended at EPMA’s PM2015 in Salzburg, Austria. The first of these dealt with relatively coarse microstructures, the second fine-grained hardmetals and the third nanopowders.
