Materials Today Advances – a new Open Access journal

Materials Today is delighted to announce the launch of brand new gold open access journal: Materials Today Advances. The journal is the latest addition to Elsevier’s Materials Today family; which includes the flagship Materials Today journal (Journal Impact Factor 24.537*) and an extended family of materials science publications.

Over the last several years the Materials Today family has grown to offer comprehensive coverage across materials science. Our portfolio of journals and related services provide researchers with the widest variety of outlets to share their work within their communities, no matter the scope. Now, we are expanding our options to further open science, with a program designed to introduce more open access options to help authors share their work.

Materials Today Advances is a high impact multi-disciplinary, open access journal covering the full breadth of materials science and engineering. The journal aims to connect different communities within materials science, highlighting studies that make a significant impact to the field. The journal covers all aspects of materials science and related disciplines, including fundamental and applied research, with a focus on studies with broad impact that can cross traditional subject boundaries. The journal welcomes the submissions of articles at the forefront of materials science, advancing the field.

Leading the journal as Editor-in-Chief is Professor Jamie Warner from the University of Oxford, UK, alongside an editorial board of prominent researchers.

Part of the Materials Today family, Materials Today Advances offers authors rigorous peer review, rapid decisions, and high visibility. The editors welcome comprehensive articles, short communications and reviews on topics including but not limited to low dimensional materials; functional materials; characterization techniques; synthesis and processing; energy applications; biomaterials; biomedical applications; bioinspired materials; and soft materials.

Alongside the extended family of journals, the new publication joins Materials Today , Applied Materials Today, Materials Today Energy Materials Today Chemistry, Materials Today Nano, Materials Today Physics, and more.
