Introducing Materials Today Bio

Materials Today is delighted to announce the launch of a new journal: Materials Today Bio. This fully open access journal represents the latest addition to Elsevier’s Materials Today family.

Leading the new title is Editor-in-Chief Professor João F. Mano from the University of Aveiro. "The latest developments in the field of materials science and technologies have been increasingly relevant in advancing new concepts and solutions in biology, medicine, biotechnology and biomedical engineering – conversely, the observation of nature and the understanding of biology has enabled huge growth in high performance and multifunctional materials.” commented Professor Mano. “Materials Today Bio will constitute a dynamic forum to present and discuss aspects of exceptional significance at the interface of materials and bio-sciences/technologies”. Materials Today Bio will be invaluable to both academics and practitioners to communicate cutting-edge discoveries in biomaterials, devices and their application to healthcare, therapeutics and biotechnology.

Materials Today Bio is a multi-disciplinary journal covering all aspects of biological and bio-inspired materials at the interface with chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, and medicine.  From the design and assembly of novel structures, their functionalization and interaction with biological systems to bioimaging, advanced therapies and diagnostics in healthcare, the journal will capture the most exciting advances and discoveries within this field.

The journal is now open for the submission of high-quality original research articles, short communications, and reviews.  The journal offers rapid review with expert advice, and maximum visibility of published articles via ScienceDirect and MaterialsToday.com.
