During the seminar, seven composites experts and Brazilian designer Índio da Costa will talk to an audience including representatives of main contractors, banks, governments and universities.

“The World Cup will provide numerous business opportunities for the Brazilian composites industry, something at approximately US$450 million by 2014," says Gilmar Lima, president of ABMACO. "And with this event, we will show that we are fully capable of taking advantage of them.”

“Since it is a versatile material, we will participate in most of the investments required to perform the World Cup in Brazil,” he adds.

Applications for composites could include vehicles parts, pipes, tanks, floors, seats, ladders, roofs and street furniture.
