Boeing launched the 777X at the 2013 Dubai Airshow in November. The 777X builds on the success of Boeing's 777 aircraft and will feature a longer, high-efficiency composite wing based on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner's wing.

The new facility at Everett will support fabrication of the 777X composite wings and will be approximately 1 million ft2 in size. Construction is scheduled to start later this year.

The composite wings will also be assembled at Everett.

The first 777X delivery is targeted for 2020.
