GKN reports that it has put a fifth machine in production to make the rear wing spars for the Airbus A350 wing box.

Aerospace manufacturer Spirit Aerosystems is also making the front spar pieces using the same Torresfiberlayup automated fiber placement machine from Spanish machine manufacturer MTorres.

GKN has also allocated additional space at its facilities for one more unit each, to cope with potential enlarged versions of the A350.
