Oystercatcher XXX is the second racing yacht for owner Richard Matthews that has been built by Paul Hakes.

The HH42 yachts are built by Hakes Marine, a division of Hudson Yacht and Marine Co Ltd (HYM), in Xiamen, China.

The HH42 was built using HRG1 carbon fibre prepreg from Hengshen, which has manufacturing facilities in Danyang, China. Hengshen has a European design, development and technical support team based in Southampton, UK.

Hengshen's HRG1 is a toughened, 70°C curing epoxy prepreg, designed for the manufacture of large structures at low curing temperatures. The prepregs used Henghen's HF10 carbon fibres. HRG1 prepreg features include
medium tack and an outlife of 40 days at 21°C.

Key to the success of the project were the short lead times on delivery of the Hengshen prepreg materials.
