The polyurethane-based resin is designed for use in the resin transfer moulding (RTM) process, where Henkel says it enables improved economics and higher throughput.

According to Henkel, the new Loctite MAX2 resin cures "significantly faster" than standard epoxy resins, and during injection its lower viscosity enables more efficient impregnation of the fibres.

Loctite MAX2 was developed to provide more flexibility as well as much higher impact resistance than traditional epoxy resins.
