Seatec 2012, the 10th International Exhibition of Technology, Subcontracting and Design for Boats, Megayachts and Ships, takes place on 8-10 February in Carrara, Italy. 

Resintex will be promoting an extended range of speciality raw materials, reinforcements and ancillary composite products which it supplies across Italy, as well as its closed mould technology expertise.

Resintex is the distribution partner for Scott Bader, SP High-Modulus, METYX Composites®, Camelyaf, 3A Composites, Alan Harper Composites, ACC Silicones, Richmond Aerovac, Fibertex, Westech, RST-5, Total Seal, Eurovacuum, Brianza Plastica, Safas Corporation, and FRP Accessories.

Marine gel-coat

Resintex will showcase Scott Bader’s marine-approved advanced D-Iso/NPG gel-coat Crystic® Permabright, which has been demonstrated to outperform established Iso/NPG and Iso gel-coat technologies.

Resintex will also display the Crestabond range of primerless structural adhesives, established RINA certified Crestomer adhesives, marine-approved Crystic infusion resins and the new Crestapol® 1250LV high performance resin. The Crystic matched tooling system and Crystic Fireguard 75PA Excel fire protection top coat will also be on show.

Closed moulding

Resintex will also be promoting closed moulding technologies, such as reusable membrane infusion moulding (RMIM).

During Seatec 2012, there will be regular demonstrations by Alan Harper Composites of the reusable silicone membrane fiRST® Technology system, suitable for infusion and prepreg moulding.

Activ-e electric boat

The Activ-e ‘zero emissions’ is all-electric 10 m open top passenger boat, constructed in fibreglass. Resintex supplies the materials, technical support and the silicone membrane system for the Activ-e boat, which is now in production. Vacuum infusion is used to fabricate the composite hull and interior sections.

During the development stages, Resintex worked with the Activ-e project team: Anselmo Mauri Costruzioni Nautiche (shipyard), h3o and Paolo Portinari (project and naval architecture), AM Project Management (project management), and Navyonica (electronic and electrical assistance).

Reinforcements

Resintex has secured distribution agreements with METYX Composites for its glass and carbon fabrics, as well as METYCORE and METYCORE MAX ranges.

The company also has a distribution agreement with Camelyaf for its glass chopped strand mats and woven rovings.
