Carbon fibre manufacturer Toho Tenax, the core company of the Teijin Group's carbon fibre business, supplies a variety of carbon fibre types for both dry textile and prepreg use on the CSeries programme.

Toho Tenax expects the contract to generate revenues of approximately US$130 million over the next 10 years.

The CSeries

Bombardier's CSeries aircraft took its first flight in September (see Bombardier CSeries completes maiden flight).

The aircraft, which is designed for the 100- to 149-seat market segment, features a body built of 70% advanced structural materials to deliver weight savings. 46% of the body – including the wings – is advanced composite materials.
