Upon completion of Phase 1, Royal will have added just over 30 000 ft2 to its site in Minden, Nebraska, which will bring its total building to 82 000 ft2.

The Phase 1 expansion will house a 12 000 ft2 clean room for carbon/epoxy composite part production and will house Royal’s 5 autoclaves.

Royal has also purchased a 12 ft x 30 ft autoclave, a ply cutting table with conveyor system, and a waterjet machining centre from Flow Inc.

“This 30 000 ft2 high bay building should satisfy our growth needs for the next 5 years," says Phillip Gill, President of Royal Engineered Composites. " We’ll move in equipment the day after it is approved for occupancy.”

The Phase 1 expansion is scheduled for completion in November 2011. The additional facilities will expand Royal’s capabilities to produce larger parts and assemblies and accommodate higher volume contracts.

Royal has been experiencing steady growth for the last 10 years and expects that trend to continue, according to Jarrod Ridge, Business Development Manager at Royal Engineered Composites.

"As more aircraft are being designed or retrofitted to include additional composite content than ever before, the supply chain has become increasingly more important. Our customers are driving our growth based on our dedication to performance and being that stable supplier that allows them to focus on the future.”
