BAE Systems has manufactured high temperature mold tooling by 3D printing a resin system from composite tooling specialist Airtech.

According to Airtech, its Dahltram I-350CF system is a carbon fiber reinforced, polyethylenimine (PEI) based 3D print resin suitable for use at high temperatures.

BAE Systems has reportedly been working on the development of the manufacturing process with Airtech and Ingersoll Machine Tools, who printed the mold tool on its MasterPrint large format 3D printing platform. The tooling will be used to demonstrate the manufacture of combat air parts.
