CNC company Thermwood says that it has developed a new version of its large-scale additive system (LSAM).

According to the company, the LSAM 1010 system uses the walls from the larger LSAM systems with the gantry, control and sub-systems from the company’s lower cost MT version. It has a fixed 10 ft by 10 ft table, with a single moving gantry that carries both the print and trim heads as on the MT. Also like the MT, it can both print and trim, but not at the same time, Thermwood said.

While the LSAM 1010 is slightly wider than the larger LSAMs, the overall footprint of the 1010 is slightly smaller than required for the MT system, the company said.
