DSM expands textured coating resin range with highly functional sandy-feel resin.

DSM has released Skins Sandy, a new material in its Skins range of haptic coating resins. According to the company, the new resin can enable print and packaging manufacturers to add sand-like textures to a wide range of materials, including food packaging.

Skins Sandy can impart textures ranging from fine to coarse and is suitable for overprint varnishes, paper & board, and flexible packaging, and also has a broad food contact compliance make it suitable for textured food packaging, DSM said. It can delivers sandpaper texture in a single coating without fillers or additives and has high shelf stability and production yield.
