Lehvoss and Forward Engineering North America (FENA), have partnered to develop additive manufacturing (AM) materials that work as well as materials for injection molded composite parts. 

FENA is a newly established division of Forward Engineering GmbH, a global engineering and consulting firm which focuses on the mass production of fiber reinforced polymer composites in automotive structures.

The company suggests that its Luvosint and Luvocom 3F 3D printing materials can emulate the performance characteristics of highly filled structural and semi-structural automotive grade injection molding grade resin compounds, and meet stringent functional and performance requirements.

‘Automotive OEMs and suppliers want to accelerate product development through the production of functional structural prototypes with AM,’ said Martin Popella, business development manager at Lehvoss North America. ‘However, the right materials and process parameters must be selected to deliver quality parts that meet targeted requirements including quality, consistency and repeatability.’
