Launch of the annual CSTE Outstanding Young Researcher Award

Elsevier and Composites Science and Technology (CSTE) are pleased to announce the launch of the CSTE Outstanding Young Researcher Award to recognize young scientists with research excellence in composite materials, with special consideration for those who have made outstanding contributions to the journal of CSTE. This new annual award is the first of its kind from CSTE.

The 2017 CSTE Outstanding Young Researcher Award consists of a travel grant for the winner to enable them to receive their award at the 21st International Conference on Composite Materials, and a plaque. The awardee is expected to attend the award ceremony.

Submit a Nomination

  1. A candidate should be the first author of a paper which was published in CSTE, within two years prior to the award year. (For example, the 2017 award is for papers published in 2015 and 2016)
  2. A candidate should be under 35 years old at the time of nomination.
  3. CSTE authors, readers, editorial board members and editors are all encouraged to make nominations.
  4. Basis of selection could include, besides general scientific contents and/or technical merits, paper citation record and paper download record.

Nomination deadline: 31 March 2017

Nominations are now open to the community with no discrimination for region or gender and should be submitted using the online nomination form where the following required information can be uploaded:

  1. Name 
  2. Email address
  3. Biography (200 words max.)
  4. List of relevant CSTE publications
  5. Brief description of major impact of relevant work (750 words max.)
  6. Nomination letter from research advisor/senior collaborator
