The Energy & Earth Sciences Journals group currently publishes over 100 high-quality journals, including key publications edited by the best minds in these subject areas. The Energy & Earth Sciences journals’ team is a global one, with 6 team members in UK, 2 in The Netherlands, 2 in China (Beijing), 1 in France, and 1 in USA. We are looking to recruit a full-time Associate Publisher to work at our office in Beijing from 1 October 2019 onwards.

About the role:

Key Result Areas:

We are looking for a bright, experienced, and enthusiastic individual to maintain, develop, and take complete publishing responsibility for a defined list of earth science journals within Energy & Earth Sciences and to work on related projects and initiatives. Previous publishing experience is an advantage but is not required. We welcome applications from candidates with a good educational background and keen interest in scientific publishing; good communication and organizational skills; and ability to work independently while also contributing to team initiatives. The role is largely office-based but some international and domestic travel is required.

  • Good and efficient portfolio management; with attention to quality control
  • Strategic development and timely implementation of business plans
  • Effectively maintain and develop networks of key contacts in the field
  • Actively contribute to team projects
  • Clearly communicate market insight and adapt plans as needed

Educational Level and Professional Experience:

  • University degree – essential
  • 1-2 years journal publishing experience – desirable – or equivalent scientific/academic experience
  • Fluent English speaker – essential
