Materials Today Energy: Early Career Researcher Editorial Board - Open Call for Applications

Open Call for Applications

Materials Today Energy are excited to be launching an open call for applications to join a new Early Career Researcher Editorial Board. We are launching this initiative in order to provide opportunities for early career researchers to become more involved in the running of a journal, and to enable the journal to connect with a wide range of scholars from around the world.

The ECR Board will be composed of around 20 scholars, who will be made members of the ECR board for two years. Responsibilities of membership include:

  • Conducting reviews for the journal;
  • Submitting manuscripts to the journal, where appropriate;
  • Ambassadorship of the journal at events and conferences, and within your department;
  • Consultation with editors on matters of journal policy;
  • Proposing developments and offering feedback on the journal to aid its development.

Benefits of membership include:

  • Formal recognition of relationship and contribution to the journal;
  • Reviewing masterclass with editor-in-chief;
  • Opportunity to propose and guest edit special issues, and to propose review papers;
  • Attendance at annual journal editorial board meeting;
  • Opportunities to network with members of the editorial board;
  • Potential for promotion to the full editorial board;
  • Insights into scholarly publishing.

To be eligible, applicants must have completed their PhD within the last 10 years and currently be working as a researcher at a university or research institution.
