Thermal and metallurgical engineering firm Inprotec, based in the UK, has been awarded a six-figure contract by Spain-based Azor Ambiental to upgrade its lead recovery plant in Murcia.

Inprotec will design, manufacture and install replacements and upgrades to the company’s existing short rotary furnaces, which are used for smelting as part of the lead recovery process.

According to the company, the two-year project will help Azor Ambiental increase production and reduce maintenance costs at the plant which produces over 40,000 tonnes of lead every year.
