The MPIF has reported that Vernon Griffiths passed away recently at the age of 88.

Griffiths received a Doctorate of Science in Metallurgy and two minors in Nuclear Engineering and Chemistry from MIT in 1955 before joining the Montana School of Mines in 1959 where he taught metallurgy, materials selection, electron microscopy, corrosion, and fatigue analysis for 45 years.
