Boeing issues the award annually to recognise suppliers who have achieved superior performance. H.C. Starck maintained a ‘Silver’ composite performance rating for each month of the 12 month performance period, from 1 October 2012 to 30 September 2013.

“H.C. Starck is committed to the aerospace industry,” said Dmitry Shashkov, member of H.C. Starck's executive board and head of the fabricated products division. “With positive growth outlook for the next 5-10 years, it represents a solid growth opportunity for us. But more importantly, achieving supplier excellence and recognition from some of the leading, demanding companies in the field such as Boeing is very meaningful.”

H.C. Starck provides Boeing with materials from its responsible supply chain management system (RSCM) using conflict-free materials. RSCM helps H.C. Starck avoid sourcing materials from conflict regions or from suppliers that do not act in line with environmental and social sustainability.

Unethical sources

H.C. Starck’s tantalum supply chain passed a third consecutive audit under the conflict-free smelter (CFS) validation programme. The programme is being recognised and adapted by many metal industries determined to eliminate unethical sources of raw material from their supply chains.
