The objective of IZA’s ESD Committee is to protect market access and position zinc as a sustainable material of choice.

At Teck, Edwards has been responsible for the development and implementation of corporate environmental policies and programmes, including external and internal reporting, environmental support for operations and projects, energy and carbon management, and the management of dormant and closed properties.

Edwards joined the board of directors of the International Cadmium Association (ICdA) in 2008 and was chairman of the board from 2011 to 2013.

“It’s a pleasure to take on the role of chair of the ESD Committee,” said Edwards. “I’ve been involved with the IZA and the ESD Committee for many years and I have found IZA to be very effective in advancing the efforts of the zinc industry. I have followed the recent work of the ESD Committee on zinc and health with great interest and have been thrilled to see ESD become a very successful program, one which clearly demonstrates how zinc makes an important contribution to society. I look forward to working with the IZA ESD Committee to continue to advance the goals of the zinc industry.”
