According to GKN, the Thermal series is capable of 50% higher thermal conductivity over traditional materials (245 vs. 160 W/(mK)) and has greater design freedom when compared to conventional die cast and extruded products. It also removes the need for anodizing due to its excellent corrosion resistance.

"GKN is a strong player in the automotive industr, and we are excited to take our next generation heat sink material into the immensely evolving LED market and the ever-growing solid state lighting,” said Karl Pfluke, regional product and process centre engineer.
