(Source: FPM)The award forms part of the 29th Hagen Powder Metallurgy Symposium which took place in Hagen Germany, from 26-26 November 2010, and covers excellence in the German PM market.
Prof. Kieback, who is also the director of the Institute of Materials Science with a chair in powder metallurgy, sintered and composite materials at the Technical University Dresden, has been active in research and academic education in different areas of powder metallurgy, starting with sintered steel and later on mostly with hard metals, looking particularly at industrial application.
He has been head of the Gemeinschaftsausschuss Pulvermetallurgie, a board which serves as regular common discussion ground for all important scientific institutes as well as the heads of R&D departments of the powder metallurgical industry.
