Nano Today reports new Impact Factor

Singapore-based Nano Today journal’s impact factor has increased from 13.157 to 17.476. The journal continues to rank among the world’s most influential scientific journals according to the latest 2017 Journal Citation Reports® by Thomson Reuters.

“I am delighted with the new impact factor and would like to thank our authors, reviewers and editorial advisory board for their contributions toward making Nano Today a success. I am particularly grateful to our Managing Editor, Noreena AbuBakar, for her outstanding efforts in managing the journal. Nano Today will continue to publish the top articles in this multidisciplinary frontier, and emphasize the importance of the link between design, synthesis, and the wide-ranging applications of nanomaterials and nanosystems,” said Professor Jackie Y. Ying, Editor-in-Chief of Nano Today, and Executive Director of the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology of A*STAR, Singapore.

“The remarkable boost in the 2016 Impact Factor for Nano Today denotes the community’s contributions to the journal and the dedication of Prof. Jackie Ying and her team to their mission. Nano Today continues to deliver views on the most exciting trends across nanoscience, from nanodevices for energy, electronics and optics to authoritative reviews of nano in the biomedical sciences. My heartfelt congratulations and thank you to Prof. Ying, Noreena, and News & Opinions Editor Dr. Cordelia Sealy,” said Dr Marina Soares E Silva, Publisher, Materials Science Journals, Elsevier.

The Nano Today journal is ranked among the top 10 journals in three categories and the only one based in Asia:

  • #3 out of 87 journals in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
  • #7 out of 275 journals in Materials Science (Multidisciplinary)
  • #7 out of 166 journals in Chemistry (Multidisciplinary)

Nano Today is an international journal for research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. It provides comprehensive coverage of this exciting and dynamic field through a unique mixture of authoritative review articles, rapid communications, as well as the latest research news and opinions. The journal has consistently ranked among the world’s top journals since transitioning into a journal from a magazine format in 2009 under Prof. Ying’s leadership.

This year, Nano Today will be organizing the 5th Nano Today Conference with the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology and Elsevier. The conference will be held in Kona, Hawaii on December 6-10, 2017 (www.nanotoday-conference.com). Started in 2009, the Nano Todayconference series has become a leading forum for the most recent advances in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Organized biennially, the last conference was held in Dubai in December 2015 with 500 delegates.

The Journal Citation Reports®, published annually by Thomson Reuters, measures the research influence and impact at the journal and category levels in sciences and social sciences. The journal’s impact factor is the ratio of last year’s citations to articles published in that journal in the two previous years. The 2017 report, which is based on 2016 citation data, features 11,459 journal listings in 236 disciplines within 81 countries.
