The Pacific Polymer Conference (PPC) was initiated by the Pacific Polymer Federation (PPF) in 1989. Since then, it has been organized every two years in different member countries. The aim of the conference is to bring together polymer scientists from the Pacific region and other parts of the world to discuss and exchange advances in polymer science and engineering. The latest three conferences were held successfully in Jeju island (2011), Kaohsiung (2013) and Kauai (2015). The 15th Pacific Polymer Conference (PPC-15) will be organized by the Polymer Division, Chinese Chemical Society (PDCCS) and the PPF, and will take place from Sunday, 10th of December, to Thursday, 14th of December, 2017, at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, Xiamen, China.

PPC-15 will cover all aspects of polymer science and engineering. A special symposium will be arranged to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ACS journal Macromolecules. The conference will be an excellent opportunity for participants to discuss the recent progress in polymer science and engineering, and provide future perspectives on new emerging advanced materials. This conference will also provide a good opportunity for young polymer scientists to gather and form their own network in the Pacific basin for future collaboration.

The conference will be held in Xiamen, the cleanest and most beautiful seaport city located on the southeastern coast of Fujian Province. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in China. December is the best season for sightseeing in Xiamen, with beautiful surrounding natural scenery and mild weather. I believe that all the participants will enjoy the scientific program, as well as all the beautiful city has to offer, by attending PPC-15.

I am looking forward to meeting you in Xiamen in December 2017.
