"This recognition by General Motors shows the commitment of our dedicated employees to deliver quality products, and emphasizes our goal to provide leading technology that helps move the world,” said Bob Willig, president of GKN Sinter Metals Americas Operations. The achievment puts GKN Sinter Metals within the top 2% of all GM Powertrain suppliers in North America.

The honours, received at the 'GM Supplier Quality Excellence' awards ceremony at GM Powertrain's headquarters in Pontiac, Mich., were given to GKN Sinter Metals' Emporium Automotive (PA), Manitowoc, Wis., and Conover, N.C., locations.

GKN Sinter Metals supplies a range of powertrain products from these three locations to General Motors. Emporium Automotive provides GM with clutch plates and connecting rods; Manitowoc delivers main bearing caps; and Conover builds aluminum camshaft caps for a number of engine programs at GM.
