Ford Motor Company has presented the GKN Sinter Metals Plant in Pimpri, India with its Q1 award for supplier excellence.

According to the company the award is only given to suppliers achieving a sustained level of excellence in customer satisfaction over a period of time, while also meeting agreed requirements in quality, productivity and service.

GKN Sinter Metals reportedly has a share of more than 45% of the powder metallurgy market in India. Ford is its largest customer and since 2005 the Pimpri Sinter Metals plant has supplied Ford with conventional powder metal components such as pulleys and sensor rings that are predominantly integrated into engine systems.
