Graphene specialist Haydale is working a number of organizations to develop functionalized inks using Haydale materials.

Graphene specialist Haydale is working with Swansea University, GTS Flexibles, Alliance Labels, Tectonic International, ScreenTec, Alliance Labels, Malvern Panalytical and the English Institute of Sport to develop functionalized inks using Haydale materials.

The project, part of a Welsh Government SMART Expertise Program aimed at benefitting industry in Wales, will look into scaling up production of products using functionalized micro and nano materials. The first products will be provided by the English Institute of Sport (EIS), Tectonic and GTS Flexibles.

‘This is a really exciting project which will take innovative concepts manufactured by printing of advanced functional materials and rapidly transitioned them from proof of concept into volume, profitable products,’ said professor Tim Claypole, director of the welsh centre for printing and coating, Swansea University. ‘It will drive more applications for inks containing the unique functionalised nano carbons created by the Haydale Plasma Functionalisation process.’
