Call for Nominations: 2023 CSTE Outstanding Young Researcher Award

Elsevier and Composites Science and Technology (CSTE) invite you to submit nominations for the 2023 CSTE Outstanding Young Researcher Award, established to recognize young scientists with research excellence in composite materials, with special consideration for those who have made outstanding contributions to the journal of CSTE.

The CSTE Outstanding Young Researcher Award is given every 2 years, and consists of a cash prize of 1,000 USD, and a plaque. The awardee is expected to attend the award ceremony, tentatively to be held during the 23rd International Conference on Composite Materials.

Nomination requirements

  1. A candidate should be the first author of a paper which was published in CSTE, within two years prior to the award year (for example, the 2023 award is for papers published in 2021 and 2022).
  2. A candidate should be under 35 years old at the time of nomination.
  3. CSTE authors, readers, editorial board members and editors are all encouraged to make nominations. Self-nominations are welcome as well.
  4. Basis of selection could include, besides general scientific contents and/or technical merits, paper citation record and paper download record.

Nomination deadline: 31st March 2023

Nominations are now open to the community with no discrimination for region or gender and should be sent via email to Prof Karl Schulte (schulte@tuhh.de), the Editor-in-Chief of Composites Science and Technology. The following information should be sent:

· Name

· Email address

· Biography (200 words max.)

· List of relevant CSTE publications

· Brief description of major impact of relevant work (750 words max.)

· Nomination (recommendation) letter from research advisor/senior collaborator
